ICHRA Renewals Are Right Around the Corner
Oct. 10, 2024
To help you prepare for Jan. 1, we are sharing important information on what to expect when completing your 2025 ICHRA renewals.
Beginning in the next few weeks, your ICHRA groups and their employees will receive the below documents and communications as we get closer to open enrollment.
Communications to Employers (With Copies to Agents)
- Oct. 11, 2024
- Group Heads-Up Notification: This is an email to groups with important things to consider. It explains what they will need to do to begin the renewal process.
- ICHRA Roadmap: This serves as a resource for groups outlining the steps of the ICHRA renewal process from start to finish.
- Nov. 7, 2024
- Group Renewal Notice: This notice provides a step-by-step outline of what employers need to do to complete the renewal process. It will include a blank census and the ICHRA roadmap for groups to reference.
- Draft Schedule: The schedule explains what the different ICHRA drafts are, when they will be made and how they will appear on bank statements.
Communications to Employees
- Oct. 15, 2024
- Pre-Open Enrollment Letter: This is a letter to employees of ICHRA groups letting them know when they will receive their renewal kit in the mail and what they need to do during open enrollment to renew their plan. Important note: This letter provides the current monthly premium, how much the employer is contributing and how much the employee is responsible for each month. ICHRA contributions are not included in renewal kits. They are explained in this letter.
- Oct. 31, 2024
- Renewal Kits: These will be mailed to members by Oct. 31. The kits provide 2024 plan details and how members renew their plan.
What You Need to Do
Remind your groups to post the employer notice at least 90 days before their plan's effective date. View the notice here*.
Get updated census information on your ICHRA groups by logging into BASES and by using the bar file. The bar file will be sent to you in mid-October from BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. If you have questions regarding BASES, email Sales.Reporting@bcbssc.com.
Your account executive will be working closely with you in the coming weeks to ensure you successfully renew all of your ICHRA groups.
